Hi, I’m Emem and I am a second year Mechanical Engineering student. Congratulations on getting into Imperial and more importantly, getting to spend your first year at Wilson House. I Immensely enjoyed being a Wilson fresher - all the free find and fun trips and I’m looking forward to spending my 2nd year here as hall senior. I enjoy trying near restaurants, playing the drums, piano - listening to R&B/Hip-hop, playing fifa on the PS4. If you need any sort of advice or someone to explore London with, I’m happy to help!
Hi everyone! Welcome to Imperial! Welcome to Wilson! Welcome to university life! My name's Zoe and I'm a 3rd year Electronic Engineering Student and looking forward to meeting you all. I'll be around Wilson this year for you to ask absolutely any questions, hopefully mainly in the Social Space when it's not exam season (eek!). I absolutely love dance, acroyoga, bouldering, figure skating and pretty much anything active so if you ever want to talk about where these things are at Imperial or just in London in general I'll try to answer. I'm doing half Electronics, half Computing (does not at all mean that I can fix your laptop) and happy to talk to you about either department, or any help with applying for engineering internships. Looking forward to meeting you all and hope you all have an amazing year... and degree... and university experience... and rest of life!
Hello there Freshers! First of all, congrats on securing a place at Imperial, and of course Wilson House – its greatest hall!
My name is Douwe, and I am an MSc student at the Imperial College Business School studying Technology Innovation and Management. Having lived in student halls during my undergrad at King's College London, it’s my first year in Wilson House too so let’s make it a great one together. You will probably find me cycling around as a true Dutchman (call me crazy in London, I know), or see me in a suit as I work as a tailor on Sundays (come and get a discount if you need one). I absolutely love going to many of the amazing concerts or plays in London so feel free to tag along. Make the best out of this first year at uni, my advice would be to get involved as much as you can with Imperial societies and Hall events throughout the year. Cannot wait to meet you all!
Hi, and welcome to Wilson! I’m Aishwarya, but you can call me Ash, and I’m a third year Biomedical Engineering student. I spent my second year living out in Earls Court, but now I am back in halls - there’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of living in halls. It really is one of the best experiences you can get out of your time in uni. There’s so many hall events to look forward to as well as discounted events around London. My hobbies include baking/cooking, binge watching tv shows, and exploring London. Feel free to join me in any of these or even pop by for a chat :) I’m looking forward to meeting you guys, enjoy the rest of summer and come back prepared to have an amazing time!
Hi – welcome to Wilson House! My name is Beth and I’m in my fourth year of studying medicine here at Imperial. This is my second year as a hall senior in Wilson, and I’m looking forward to meeting you all and helping you to settle into uni life! In my spare time I love being outdoors, enjoy anything cycling/hiking/running related, and when I can I like to be out and about exploring London. I’m sure you’ll have a brilliant first year, and if you ever have any worries or need a chat about anything, feel free to come and find me. Enjoy Summer, and I’ll see you in October!
Hey there, I’m Ignatius (Iggy) and I’m currently in my third year studying Biology. I was a fresher back in 2014 in Wilson, and loved it – so much so, I’m back to help you enjoy it too! Last year I took a year out to do a year in industry in a zoo in Devon, honestly the best thing I have ever done! If you have any questions about internships, what it’s like to work at a zoo or the meaning of life, then feel free to give me a shout!
First year at Imperial is a fantastic experience; from experiencing London, studying with some of the best at a world class university and of course living at Wilson House! Sometimes, it’s a lot to adjust to and gets a bit much, trust me, we have all been there! You’ll make it through, and of course I’m here if you need someone to talk to Me?
I love jazz music, I’m regularly at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, one of the great perks of living in London! I also love radio and social badminton, so let me know if you want to join Radio Society or have a knockabout.
Hello future Wilsoners, congratulations on getting in to Wilson House (and Imperial I guess). I’m in my third year of Chemical Engineering and entered the wonderful world of Wilson as a fresher just like you. In fact, I lived in central London my entire life so am tailored for any enquires regarding the immediate proximity of our hall as well as London as a whole. I am a FIFA veteran, which would be pretty sad if I wasn’t an avid footballer, so I’m excited to be playing with hopefully all of you as Wilson FC dominates the league! So if you need any advice on anything from clubbing to engineering, fancy a game of pool or table tennis, or want to just have a general chat, don’t hesitate to knock on my door (preferably not before 10am). Let’s make this a year to remember!
Hi my name's Mo! I'm currently a 2nd year medical student and a hall senior at Wilson House. I'm a devout theatre-goer, foodie and love to travel - so feel free to ask me about them and anything else too! London is a wonderful place to study and relax as you'll no doubt realise when you start your studies - but it can be a little overwhelming at times too. If you ever have anything to talk about, be it about adjusting to university life or anything else that concerns you fel free to speak your mind as I'll always lend an ear.
Hello all! I’m Michael and I’m a final year chemist originally from the rural hinterlands of Wales. I’ve been at Wilson for three years now (same room!), so if that’s not a ringing endorsement of how great this place is, I don’t know what is!
In between my Masters project (catalysis and catalyst design) and my Union role as the RCSU President (I represent Chem, Maths, Phys, and Life Sciences students in College and the Union), I enjoy a bit of light reading, political and current affairs chat, and cooking – I always make time for it.
Feel free to come chat anytime (FB always works if you can’t pin me down in person). I really hope you all feel welcome in Wilson and settle in well for the first of three, four, or even six years at Imperial College London!
Hi everyone, I'm Hunain and congrats on getting into the best hall at Imperial! I spent my first year at Wilson and can assure you all you're in for a fantastic year where you'll be making a lot of memories (some you'll regret and some you'll cherish). When I'm not at Wilson, you can find me in Blackett Laboratory pretending to be a physicist. Looking forward to meeting everyone soon!
Hi and welcome to Wilson House! I’m Paula, second year Mechanical Engineering student. I’m originally from Spain, although never having lived there! I’ve moved a lot around Europe and living in London this past year has been an amazing experience, which I hope you’ll love to! In my free time when not studying I enjoy playing tennis, reading books, and exploring new places (London is a great place for this!). If you need any advice or feel like a chat, feel free to come by at anytime! Enjoy the rest of your holidays, and looking forward to meeting you soon!
Hey, my name is Navraj and I am from Newcastle. First of all, well done to everyone for getting into Imperial and more importantly into Wilson House! I had a great time living in Wilson House during my first year and I am sure you will to. I am going into my second year of Mechanical engineering, so if anyone has any questions or ever needs help with Mechanical engineering, I will be more than happy to assist. My favourite sports are football and badminton; I had an amazing time playing for the Wilson football team last year and I’d definitely recommend coming along to play if you like football too. I also joined the Imperial Badminton society and played socially every other week. Additionally, I enjoy playing the piano and table tennis in my spare time.
Basically my job (and all the other hall seniors) is to make your time at Wilson House as enjoyable and stress free as possible, so please don’t hesitate to come and knock on my door if you need anything at all! :)
Some of my highlights of first year were the unbelievable Wilson breakfast every Sunday, the Thames Boat party and the Fresher’s dinner. Getting involved with as many of the Fresher’s events as possible is a great way to make new friends and make the most of your first year! I look forward to meeting you all soon. :)
Welcome to Wilson! I'm Rohan, a computing student and one of your hall seniors for the next year. Although I lived in the UK as a kid, I spent my last few pre-Imperial years living overseas so I understand what it can be like moving far from home. Don't worry, the rest of the Wilson team and I are there to support you. My hobbies include cycling and watching Formula 1 so, if you're interested in either of those, come find me. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I'll see you during fresher's week!
Hi there, congrats on getting into Imperial! My name is Rory and I’m studying the global health intercalated BSc this year. I’m a newcomer to Imperial, having moved down after 3 years of medicine at Glasgow Uni. Like yourselves, I’m looking forward to experiencing all that Imperial and London has to offer!
Living in halls is a very exciting and unique experience, and we as seniors are all here to help you make the most of it. If you ever want a chat or a game of ping pong, please feel free to knock on my door!
Hey, I’m Dami and currently a second year Civil and Environmental Engineering student at Imperial. Congratulations on getting into Imperial and more importantly, getting to spend your first year at Wilson House. I immensely enjoyed being a fresher- all the free food and fun trips, and I’m looking forward to spending my 2nd year here as a hall senior. When I’m not buried in coursework, I enjoy going to art galleries, listening to live music and trying out new restaurants. If you need any sort of advice or someone to explore London with, I’m happy to help!
Welcome to Imperial, welcome to Wilson!
Hi I’m Brandon, a second-year Chemical Engineering Student and one of the Wilson Hall Seniors. My hobbies include scuba diving and pc gaming. Moving into Halls may seem scary (I know I felt that way at first), but honestly with all the amazing events planned, new friends to make and societies to join you’ll soon settle in just fine!
In my free time, I love to hop on a tube and get off at a random station to go exploring. Make the most of being in such a vibrant city, there’s plenty to see and do and you never know what beautiful café or museum you’ll accidently find! So if ever you need a tour guide, any help, advice, or even just want to say hi - my door is always open!
Hi everyone, welcome to Wilson House! My name is Erica and I'm in the final year Geology Bsc. I'm from Hong Kong but I have been studying in England for ! few years before coming to Imperial, so if you're wary about living away from home for the first time or need someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to find me :) Being in Wilson gives you the benefit of being able to get to the rest of London quite easily as well as having Hyde Park just down the road, a brilliant place for some fresh air in this busy city, a pleasant add-on to the exciting year that you guys will experience as a fresher!
Hi new Wilson crew! (it rhymed 😉) I’m a 2nd year medic and began my humble fresher journey in Wilson like you lucky lot.
In a nutshell: I’m half Slovak (left side), originally from Oxford, enjoy all things sporty (especially basketball, running + korfball), play the flute, and love broccoli. Specialist skills include being able to recite Pi to 225dp, rap the words to ‘Love the Way You Lie – Eminem ft. Rhianna’ and being so unfunny I almost become funny again…
Me aside, I hope you’re excited about starting uni! I know it can seem daunting, but we’re here to look after you so if you need advice about anything*, want someone to beat you at darts/pool/Wii, or just want to chat, my door is always open 😊 I’d say just throw yourself in; get involved with the Freshers’ events, try a new club, chat to everyone and just be your lovely selves and have fun! (you’re only a Fresher once remember!)
See y’all in October 🤘🏻
(*apart from maybe cooking; I can’t cook to save my life haha)
Hello and welcome to Wilson House! My name is Jacqueline, a second year Biology student from Macao (it's a tiny city in China, which had been a Portuguese colony for 400 years!). I enjoy doing sports, watching movies and musicals, and definitely exploring London too! Last year was my first year studying in the UK, and I'm glad that I've spent it in Wilson House. If you are an international student, it might be a bit challenging to live completely independently in a foreign country (or city) and to make new friends in a different language, but this is the exciting part of studying abroad, and will definitely be a very valuable experience in your youth! Whenever you encounter any problems or want to know my experience about settling down in college life, you're more than welcome to talk to me! Enjoy your fresher's year living at Wilson House!
