Seniors

Hall Seniors are undergraduate students usually in their second year but can be later, so they remember moving into halls as though it were yesterday. You will see them around all the time, not only because they organise all the events in the hall but also because most of you will share a kitchen with them.

Falmouth

  • Barney Sandeford - Falmouth 3rd floor
Hi! My name is Barney, and for some of you lucky people, I’ll be your hall senior! I’ll be looking after everyone on floor 3, so I’d count yourself lucky if your room number starts FA3! You’ll meet Flo during your stay; he and I were hall seniors last year together, and so know everything you need to know about F&K, and you’ll find us together most evenings on floor 2 or 3! I’m now in my 3rd year of my Physics degree, am part of Imperial’s 2nd squash team, and love literally any sport. I love my music too, and you’ll probably always hear a tune coming from my room (don’t worry, the sound proofing is good :P). I’m super friendly, and cook every evening, so if you ever want to chat or need anything, just knock on my door or find me in the kitchen! Looking forward to meeting you all!
  • Florian Langer - Falmouth 2nd floor
Hey there, I am Florian, third year physics student from Frankfurt in Germany (where the sausages come from). My two most favourite things are exercising (literally any exercise) and eating. Not quite every food though, I am a bit pickier here. Because of some quirk of nature, I don’t like Frankfurter sausages that much, but I still prefer them to every single British dish there is. No offense to all those who are proud of the exquisite cuisine of their kingdom. I am also always up for a quick game of cards or a long game of chess. A top tip at the end: talk to people, not just us but everyone. The guy I sat next to (and talked to!) in the first lecture has become one of my closest friends. So you see it is quite random with whom you make friends. I am looking forward to talking to you and watch out next to whom you sit in the first lecture :-)
  • Hannah Lau - Falmouth M floor
Hello everyone! On the door of room FAM12, you may find a sign labelled 'Tsz Lau, Design Engineering (MEng)'. That would be me, except I'd really rather you call me Hannah than try to pronounce something without any vowels. (Tsz would only be half of my Chinese first name anyhow - it's actually Tsz Tung if anyone's interested.) I'm currently in second year DesEng, and am part of the Artisans Workshop committee on top of being a member of the Game Development society and Fashion and Design society, with plans to expand into SkateSoc and ICSF. Another key interest of mine (of which there are many) also include museum going, and I would be most glad to tour the V&A with any of you on Friday evenings, when the museum is open until 10 p.m. You can most likely find me hanging around in my room or the kitchen, if I'm not on campus or out exploring London. Feel free to drop by for a chat any time!
  • Ane Garcia Gauna - Falmouth LG floor
HOLA, welcome to the F&K family! My name is Ane and I am a Spanish 2nd year Chemical Engineering student.I am a basketball and workout enthusiast, as well as a devoted foodie…but perhaps my greatest joy is meeting new people. So, needless to say, feel free to knock on my door or come up and say hey if you see me around…I will be more than happy to get to know you. Also, being the foodie I am, if you ever need a restaurant suggestion, I am your go-to girl. My friends say that I´m very enthusiastic and that I´m always ready to try new activities. But above all, they say I´m very sociable and friendly.I´m very much looking forward to meeting you all and I´m sure you´ll have the best freshman year in F&K.P.S. I am still learning how to cook, so you will usually see me in the kitchen trying not to make a mess…
  • Mwana Hussein - Keogh LG floor
Hey there!! Congrats into getting to imperial but even better to F&K!! Trust me when I say, “ This hall will be a HUGE part of all the fun times you’ll have this year!!”. I hope you are excited to live here as I am! I am a third year Electronic and Information Engineering(EIE) student and I have lived in halls since 1st year! I seriously can’t get enough of the lifestyle and friends you make! Living in F&K hall will be fantastic! Yes, I just used the word fantastic. I will be one of your hall seniors this year – lucky you :) and I like to think that I am a good person to talk to for whatever reason really! Hall seniors have lived in halls before and they have experience of what it’s like to study at Imperial College. So if you're in doubt, ask way all your questions and you’re granted to get some answers! I enjoy reading and writing so if you need anything along those lines, let me know! What if it's not along those lines? Let me know anyway, and I’ll help you except if it has anything to do with cooking! I look forward to meeting and having a great year with you freshers!
  • Keogh

  • Trisha Saxena - Keogh G foor
Hey everyone, I'm Trisha and I'm a third year physicist (help). I enjoy all kinds of movies, exploring London, and eating good food. I'm a morning gymmer/swimmer and a night time reader. I love to travel and learn new languages - my most recent being Polish (but don't have too high hopes...) My advice to freshers would be to meet as many new people as possible. Don't overdo it by going out every night, but also don't end up sitting home all day. Also try and join new societies - Imperial has some really niche ones (see: Cheese Soc) but also everything from astronomy to skydiving. Make the most of being at university in London but don't forget to write home once in a while! My room is in Keogh, on the ground floor. I lived in Southside halls in my first year so feel free to ask me any questions about life in halls or at Imperial more generally. I rented privately last year, so if you're looking for places to live in your second year I can help, but apart from that whenever you have a question just let me know!
